Sancerre – The Brilliance of Sauvignon Blanc

Forbes contributor Tom Hyland recently published a story focused on Sancerre, featuring three of Domaine Hubert Brochard’s terroir-driven wines: Les Trois Coteaux 2023, Château du Fontaine-Audon “Terres de Silex” 2023, and Château du Thauvenay “Terres Blanches” 2023.

Hyland explores why Sancerre continues to stand apart as one of the world’s most expressive and food-friendly white wines. With insights from Master Sommelier Ian Cauble, the piece highlights how the region’s signature mix of limestone, clay, and flint soils—combined with a cool-climate profile—creates wines with electric acidity, citrus-driven aromatics, and a streak of unmistakable minerality. Sancerre’s rising popularity on restaurant wine lists and its versatility with a wide range of cuisines underscore its lasting global appeal.

Hyland shares the points of differentiation between the three wines and his tasting highlights. Read his full notes in the ARTICLE HERE and shortened version below
